The first piece in the series of paintings regarding relationships: Matters of the Heart. This piece addresses affairs, and how they create this powerful attraction and passion between people, leaving the original partner feeling small, hurt and insignificant. As such, the original partner is portrayed as the very small heart to the left of my signature. Most people have experienced this at one time or another, and so it is a universal experience reflected in a contemporary piece.
