1991, 28 x 34 inches, acrylic on canvas, Livonia, Michigan studio.
This is painting #4 in the 9-piece Habitat Series. As should be obvious, it is addressing domestic violence. There is much symbolism in this piece, from the fiery red suggestion of flames behind the angry man, to the green walls representing envy/jealousy, the sunny, clear blue sky outside a window with a damaged curtain, and even the video cassette of “Pretty Woman” on floor, depict a much too familiar scene in many homes, not only in America, but around the planet.
Original artwork is in a private collection. If interested in purchasing a custom print, please feel free to reach out to me, here.
