1993, 22 x 30 inches, acrylic on Rives BFK 100% cotton, print making paper, St. Charles studio, Detroit, Michigan.
This was an exploratory piece where I started with a loosely applied application of black paint, and then expanding the abstract painting incorporating squares created using galvanized mesh screen to create various patterns of color and reoccurring shapes for continuity. I incorporated this in a few different paintings using acrylic or oil paint, as well as modeling paste.
