Untitled 3
1993, 48 x 60 x 1.5 inches, acrylic, India ink and plastic on canvas with painted edges, St. Charles studio, Detroit Michigan.
This is another of my experiments using India ink. I rotated the canvas as I squirted the ink around the edges of the canvas on top of an abstract painting, allowing it to flow into the center of the canvas. It created a pattern that I amplified by painting on top of that and then sprayed more ink onto the canvas randomly. I then added dots of color and a piece of plastic gutter guard in the center of the piece as a “surprise” for the viewer. I hope I didn’t ruin the surprise!
Original available, priced at $0USD
