Wedding Day-Divorce
1996, 18 x 24 inches (unframed), acrylic and acrylic polymer on canvas, Suwanee, Georgia studio.
This piece is a part of a set of four pieces I did addressing identity. My then wife filed for divorce as i was doing this painting. I took a knife and slashed it to signify a personal event in real time. None of the works in this set were ever exhibited. One piece—Hippie—has been in a private collection in Georgia since 1996. The other two remaining pieces, School Daze and Man With Cigar, are also for sale.
Original available, priced at $450USD
